If you’ve ever heard about Cobra Electronics Corporation, it has a very big influence on the two-way radio industry. Cobra designs mobile communication products around the world; United States, Europe, Canada, and a lot more. Cobra’s products include a wide range of different communication and electronic devices. Two-way radios, CB radios, Marine and mobile navigation devices are just some of the popular products manufactured by Cobra Electronics.

Currently chaired by Jim Bazet, Cobra received a designation from Forbes magazine as one of the Best 200 Small Companies in America for the year 2000 and 2001.

Cobra has a rich history behind its 50 years in the electronics industry. It was once a small time television repair business in a garage. Now it has developed to become one of the world’s leading companies on electronic products.

Cobra Electronics Corporation was first a TV repair shop. It was called the Central Television Service Company started by Carl Korn, Cobra’s founder. It was in 1948 and the small company was set to make repairs on televisions. The TV industry was new then. The company prospered and soon, Cobra’s founder and his business partners began brainstorming and designing their own electronic products. After the TV shop, B & K Electronics started. During the early 50’s, the company coordinated with other small companies to make a corporation which they named Dynascan Corporation. The corporation then successfully developed the Sidewinder, the first ever CB radio in 1963. Shortly after the corporation introduced its new CB radio in the market, Cobra followed and became a household name. Now we have what we call the famous Cobra CB radios.

Cobra continued to evolve in the electronics industry in the following years. Eventually, Dynascan was named Cobra Electronics Corporation. Cobra stood out because of its outstanding technical innovations. Cobra continuously provides consumers with the products that they really needed to make communication much easier. In 1997, Cobra started to earn much in its revenue and its earnings increased leading to a more productive company.

Cobra has been always innovative when it comes to producing electronic devices. From TV repair to CB radios, Cobra is proudly producing mobile navigation and marine electronic equipments as well as high-quality radars.

One innovation from Cobra is its mobile navigation devices. Through these devices it’s much easier for a vehicle to locate our route options on an inconvenient traffic jammed day. Especially famous for Cobra is its two-way radios called the microTalk. These two-way radios offer the best functionality and works at longer range compared to other two-way radio products. Cobra’s microTalk radios offer its users privacy codes which are more convenient especially when the line is for use by many users.

Cobra is of course, well-known for its CB radios. The new model of its CB radios features the NightWatch which allows an easier viewing of the display panel even at night. These radios are as well fully equipped with noise suppression functions which enable a clearer conversation.

At present, Cobra Electronics Corporation still remains competitive in the electronic industry with its many and innovative electronic gadgets to offer.
